Broken Water Line

Here are some photos from a recent job in Bernard, Iowa.  A water line broke between the floor of the main floor bathroom and the basement ceiling.  The basement carpet was completely saturated.  We began by extracting the water from the carpet and pad with our truck mounted extractor.  The carpet was found to have de-laminated and could not be saved.  The carpet and pad were disposed of and the floor trim was removed to allow airflow into the wall cavity.  Dehumidifiers and air movers were placed to dry out the walls where moisture had wicked up from the floor.
