Carpet Delamination
One of the other factors that determines whether carpet can be restored is delamination.
Delamination is when there is separation of the secondary backing from the primary backing of the carpet. Delamination can be a result of water damage that is not cleaned up quickly enough. This is an example wet carpet that had significant delamination. This carpet needs to be removed and replaced.
In addition to the delamination, the carpet in this instance was being replaced due to mold growth that had formed. Again, the customer attempted to clean up a water damage loss themselves. Not adequately locating all the wet areas resulted in significant mold contamination.
